IDEA OF THE NAUTICAL CLUB

SGH Nautical Club is the fruit of the friendship of three people – Kamil Smoczyński, Karol Wyka and Tomasz Piotrowski who, sailing together across open seas and inland waters, came to the conclusion that it would be really nice to share their passion among the others. Truly, sailing is not only about the sport, it is more about the marine culture, meeting new people and sharing experiences, what all together makes a way of living the life. And SGH Nautical Club was founded in December 2006 in order to propagate this way of life.

Our first goal is to spread passion for this beautiful sport among all the young people. A lot of activities have been undertaken in order to allow students to feel the wind in their hair and the sails. Every year we are trying to come up with some new propositions of voyages so that all participants of our sailing trips have an unprecedented opportunity to broaden their nautical knowledge, share experiences within the scope of navigation, meteorology, pilotage, maneuvering a sailing boat and many others areas, not necessarily strictly connected with sailing ;)

Moreover, in the future, we are planning to organize periodical gatherings of the Club members in order to exchange views and plan new expeditions. Some known sea people are to be invited to share with us their stories about sea wolves’ lives.

In the course of years, we hope to gather a sufficient funding to buy a club boat, both for inland and sea waters, so that our club’s members could sail on their own yachts.
