The Tall Ships’ Races is one of the largest, oldest and most prestigious sailing events in the world. Participation in these races is surely the dream of every sailor.
The crew of SGH Nautical Club, for the second time the
regatta, will take part in The Tall Ships' Races in Class C on
a fast and proven boat Dar Natury
, the type of Cetus.
Like two years ago, also in this year one of the Polish ports
has the honor to host the largest sailing ships from around
the world. This is an unprecedented opportunity to promote
Polish sailing tradition in Europe and, for us, chance to
develop the club and represent the Warsaw School of Economics
on the international arena.
Please note that the Tall Ships' Races is not only sailors’ celebration – this is also sports struggle, feasts in pubs and mariners, parades on the streets of hosting cities what attracts crowds of tourists from all over Europe, creating an unique atmosphere.
In every port participating in this year’s regatta, there are numerous attractions waiting for us parties prepared especially for the crews, concerts, crews’ parades on the streets of hosting cities, sports competitions, cultural programs, the possibility of visiting the largest sailing boats and many, many other attractions.
Our voyage will be divided into two stages of 21days each.
Stage I will begin in Trzebież, where we will set sails to reach the regatta starting point in Gdynia, visiting the port of Łeba on our way. With favorable winds perhaps we will be able to visit the port or Nexø on Bornholm Island or picturesque island of Christi. In Gdynia we will start the first part of the race with the finishing line in St. Petersburg. From St. Petersburg we will head Tallinn, where we will end the first stage. If time allows us to do it, we would like also to visit Kotka in Finland.
Stage II will start in Tallinn, from where we will sail to Helsinki and later along the coast of Finland. Prior to the beginning of the second race from Turku to Klajpeda in Lithuania, we are going to visit Hanko and Marienhamn. Having finished the second race in Klajpeda, we will leave to Trzebież, visiting Gdańsk and Łeba on our way.
Attention! The route depends to a large extent on the atmospheric conditions and therefore may change.
